I remember how people used to post "first!" in response to quick moving threads in online gaming forums. I bet they still do that. Occasionally I feel some MMORPG nostalgia... but that doesn't mean I would really enjoy playing.
Despite the personality deficits that the creation of a new blog might suggest... I have a real life now.
Part of that real life will be notated here. Mainly, the part that is hoping my 14mo old daughter isn't getting into something awful while I'm here typing at the keyboard. I already coaxed a pack of gum from her eager digits. I knew she was being too quiet. She's quiet again now, aside from some suspicious rustling. It sounds vaguely like danger or doom or disaster area.
I used to think a "disaster area" was just a clever term my parents used to describe my room (and every other room in the house). It was only recently, in my 3rd decade of life, that I came upon the knowledge of a "disaster area" as a piece of official terminology, complete with its own wikipedia entry.
